The Mokuti Etosha Lodge Guestroom Design Philosophy

Mokuti Etosha Guest bedroom layout maximises the entire space, incorporating an open plan bedroom / bathroom configuration, while the toilet and shower are neatly tucked away giving required privacy.

The finishes, structures, bespoke furniture and lighting designs play a puritan role in giving the room a strong sense of place, reflecting the unique beauty of the Etosha Pan and the vast expanses of the Namib desert.

The headboard wall panel is back lit to create the perfect image of the vastness that one experiences of the Namibian landscape at dusk and dawn, just before the sun peeks over the horizon.

We created a vocal point with the thatched ceiling, enhancing the natural grass and timber rafters, creating an uninterrupted view of the thatch ceiling by ensuring all internal walls where kept as low as possible. We created a warm glow by installing a continuous LED trip light that runs behind the cornice lighting the thatch and rafters with a soft warm glow reflecting the finishes and images of the surrounding African bushveld.

We designed a stylised contemporary image that interprets of the Etosha Pan and it’s never ending horizon, this image we sandblasted onto the glass inserts of the sliding doors and laser cut it into the sheet metal backing on the luggage rack creating a three-dimensional image that tends go on for eternity.

The furniture we kept simple and rudimentary adding to the natural bush environment, while ensuring all the Guests requirements where met.

We added a variety of mood and particle lighting, giving the Guest various lighting options.

The colours and finishes in the room are inspired by a the Etosha Pan - from the spectacular rain storms, to the dry scorched and cracked earth to the soft sunsets hews.

Mokuti Food and Beverage Experiences

Our food and beverage special offerings are also evolving and providing our guests with unique alternatives.

The African Boma has become a very popular experience for many leisure tour groups that are looking for the traditional Namibian braai (BBQ) dinner and a choice of South African and Namibian wines. Our chef’s preparation of the popular game meat dishes has been well received by our guests and the interactions are beyond memorable. Our African Boma Dinners can be booked from a minimum number of 30 guests to a maximum of 80 guests.

Other food and beverage offerings to look out for at Mokuti are the following; Pool-side BBQ Dinners and Lunches and these can be booked for a minimum of 30 guests and a maximum of 80 guests. The Hambo Bush Dinner offered to our leisure groups and now becoming popular for large groups including unique bush wedding receptions, can take a minimum of 30 guests up to 120 guests. Honeymooners and other intimate guest food and beverage requirements have been catered for through our, Mokuti Sundowners hosted at the Airstrip and the Gazebo Private Dinner experiences. These two can take a minimum of two guests and a maximum of 30 guests.
